Why I sold Duolingo
DUOL (exited position): The Duolingo position was closed and fully redeployed into Hims, which offered much higher perceived asymmetry than a small holding that otherwise needed to be doubled. Duolingo is improving engagement — leaked DAU growth accelerated to 27% — but MAU growth, used as a proxy for new users, remains in a downtrend. The shares fell from $318.15 at the initial deep dive to $122.10 at exit, and confidence in 10x potential has faded.
