Encore Acquisition Company

As of March 9, 2010, Encore Acquisition Co. was acquired by Denbury Resources Inc. Encore Acquisition Company engages in the acquisition and development of oil and natural gas reserves from onshore fields in the United States. Its properties and oil and natural gas reserves are located in the Cedar Creek Anticline (CCA) in the Williston Basin in Montana and North Dakota; the Permian Basin in west Texas and southeastern New Mexico; the Rockies, which includes non-CCA assets in the Williston, Big Horn, and Powder River Basins in Wyoming, Montana, and North Dakota, and the Paradox Basin in southeastern Utah; and the Mid-Continent area that includes the Arkoma and Anadarko Basins in Arkansas and Oklahoma, the North Louisiana Salt Basin, and the East Texas Basin. At December 31, 2009, the company had estimated total proved reserves of 147.1 MMBbls of oil and 439.1 Bcf of natural gas. It sells its products to marketers, processors, refiners, and other purchasers. The company was founded in 1998 and is based in Fort Worth, Texas.
