As of June 3, 2013, Converted Organics Inc. was acquired by Finjan, Inc., in a reverse merger transaction. Converted Organics Inc. engages in the waste-to-fertilizer businesses in the continental United States. It operates in three segments: Organic Fertilizer, Industrial Wastewater Treatment, and Vertical Farming. The Organic Fertilizer segment manufactures, sells, and distributes the fertilizer products to agribusiness, turf management, and retail markets. It operates a processing facility that converts food waste and other raw materials into all-natural fertilizers, biostimulants, and soil amendment products. The Industrial Wastewater Treatment segment treats industrial wastewater by using various fuel sources to separate industrial wastewater into clean water vapor and landfill-appropriate solid residuals. The Vertical Farming segment engages in designing, building, and operating systems for growing pesticide and chemical-free organic fruits and vegetables in a controlled indoor environment using its patented technology. Converted Organics Inc. was incorporated in 2006 and is headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts.
