CCL Historical, Inc. was acquired by ATX Communications Inc. In July 2002, CoreComm Limited and its formerly wholly owned subsidiary, CoreComm Holdco, Inc., completed their recapitalization, whereby all stockholders of CoreComm Limited owned shares in CoreComm Holdco. In addition, CoreComm Holdco changed its name to ATX Communications, Inc. ATX owns 100% of the business operations that CoreComm Limited formerly owned. ATX Communications, Inc. serves as an integrated communications provider offering local exchange carrier and interexchange carrier telephone, Internet/e-business, and high-speed data services to business and residential customers in targeted markets throughout the mid-Atlantic and Midwest regions of the United States. Its customer base includes residential local access lines; business local access lines; toll-related access line equivalents; Internet subscribers; and other data customers, including point-to-point data, frame relay, Web development, Web hosting, e-commerce, co-location, and other related customers. As of July 15, 2002, it served approximately 400,000 business and residential customers. The company operates principally in the following states: Pennsylvania, Ohio, New Jersey, Michigan, Wisconsin, Maryland, Illinois, New York, Virginia, Delaware, Massachusetts, Washington, D.C., and Indiana. In July 2002, ATX acquired a fully-equipped, voice, data, and LEC switching platform site located in Herndon, Virginia.
