Founded as ICA Mortgage Corporation to handle Imperial Savings Associations mortgage banking business, American Residentials management took the company public after the RTC sold Imperial to First Nationwide Bank. American Residential originates loans primarily in California and throughout the western U.S. and New Jersey. The company also has strong wholesale originations. American Residentials servicing portfolio includes servicing on both originated and purchased loans, as well as a sizable servicing agreement with the RTC.
