AMP Incorporated was engaged in the design, manufacture, and marketing of electronic, electrical, and electro-optic connection devices; and interconnection systems and connector-intensive assemblies, as of December 31, 1998. As of that date, the company sold approximately 900,000 parts in approximately 450 global product lines, including terminals; fiber-optic, printed circuit board, and cable connectors and assemblies; connectorized printed circuit boards; cable and cabling systems; wireless; and related application tools and machines.
